I must have been lucky then, because my 40p lettuce is tasty, fresh and not tatty at all - quite small though!

Must agree, fresh and tasty, but less than half the size of the ones I have been buying for around £1.... so only worth about 40p....
But, good for smaller households, or if you are able to go shopping more than once a week.... then you could buy one every couple of days with little or no waste.

i find iceberg lettuce to be the most overpriced variety, as its flavour is bland and doesnt last well, but for 40p there not much to argue about...cant wait till all my own stary growing, blaste weather lol
