Recycling glasses & cases - where can I take them?

I've had a clear out & have about 6 pairs of old glasses & cases that I'm wondering if they can be recycled. Most are not in great condition - bent arms etc, but maybe the lenses can be reused.

Does anyone know if any of the main optitions or charity shops collect them?

I just handed my son's old ones in at Vision Express last week - off to a little one in Africa now. I think Oxfam will also take them

Try Vision Aid Overseas or your opticians. And while you're at it can you take the ones I've had sitting in the bottom drawer in the kitchen for years

Boots Opticians take them too.

Our local opticians, which are a small independent store will also take them, and our local G.P 's surgery also has a collecting box for old spectacles.

My local Specsavers have a collecting box and Dolland & Aitchison used to have a box (I don't go there now but I would be surprised if the box has gone.)

My opticians have a box, i think they're sent to the third world but they don't want the cases.
