Woke up super early this morning thanks to the sun, jumped in the shower, picked up my mum who was coming along with me as a discharged bankrupt for support! Arrived at the court very early, just to make sure I had a parking space and not rushing around.
Sat in the waiting room for over 30mins, gave me the opportunity to have a last look through my forms, which was great as I'd included two copies of two pages, so ripped them out quick! was led into a room where my forms were checked, my money was taken and I was given my file to take upstairs and a receipt.
Going upstairs was daunting, lots of professionals having conversations, very noisy room, the usher was being shouted at by some person, I was a little bit scared!! The usher took my file and I was told to sit down. Earwigged some few conversations, someone getting divorced, a man led into the court with handcuffs on. My mum thought it was great, wanted to be a fly on the wall!! I was focused on what my experience with the judge would be like.
I was called in to see the judge and told to call her ma'am. I sat down, the tape recorder was going, I was in there for 50 seconds! She asked me to confirm I'd not entered into an IVA, and to confirm I still wanted to be bankrupt, said she saw from my forms how I'd tried to avoid bankruptcy and stamped my form.
Again, told to go downstairs and wait for what I called my 'certificate of achievement' :rotfl:
Spoke to a lady who had also gone BR just after me, expecting her 4th baby in 4 weeks time. I said the stress must have been so much with a baby on the way. Good luck to her.
Got to wait up to 7 days for the OR to call me.
Good experience, took me 2 hours, but the actual process would have taken 20mins if it wasn't for all the waiting!!!!
Just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped me on here, I couldn't have done it without you all!! :j
