How to make a fabric Jesus??

I'm starting my xmas crafting early but I'm stuck on how to make a fabric/felt Jesus! My friend collects religious ornaments and pictures etc and has a mixture of traditional and contemporary items. She really loved a sequin easter egg I made and that gave me the idea of trying to make a fabric Jesus.
I want this to be a hanging tree kind of decoration and for it to be 2 dimentional about 6 inches high. I've no idea where to start! What kind of pattern could I use to adapt?
Thanks in advance for any advice, and I hope this has not offended anyone.

I assume you want to make a baby Jesus for her? How about using this image as a starter
You could use a small hoop/frame and stretch some fabric tight over it. Then make the simple baby and wrap in a tiny piece of fabric. This could then be sewn to the fabric in the hoop, might want to sew it on before you frame it. You could also do a star on the back so that when it twirls round you get an image on both sides
Or how about this painted image, you could paint on a flat ceramic decoration
with pebeo 150. Once dry and then baked in the oven the paint is permanent. Or a crochet Mary and Jesus http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o320/lucy_edward/nativity2.jpg&imgrefurl=http://countingclocks.blogspot.com/&usg=__Er5TAU_cFv6R2X4RJqRTeNVl6i4=&h=450&w=338&sz=91&hl=en&start=73&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=u90QYWbqncNRlM:&tbnh=127&tbnw=95&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dfabric%2Bbaby%2Bjesus%26start%3D72%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26rlz%3D1T4ADRA_enGB373GB373%26ndsp%3D18%26tbs%3Disch:1

This looks fun, for children to make but you could do a more grown up finish to it.. http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.crafts-for-all-seasons.com/images/baby-jesus-ornament-21163409.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.crafts-for-all-seasons.com/baby-jesus-ornament.html&usg=__Eqq9APRBc4hJ41GzgwZGAT5U_6c=&h=300&w=400&sz=22&hl=en&start=19&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=3MaRh5905OY30M:&tbnh=93&tbnw=124&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbaby%2Bjesus%2Bpattern%26start%3D18%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26rlz%3D1T4ADRA_enGB373GB373%26ndsp%3D18%26tbs%3Disch:1

Thanks for your reply! Glad I didn't offend, it can be a bit tricky when it comes to religion. I didn't want anyone to think I wasbeing disrepectful!
Unfortunately I should have mentioned that I wanted an adult Jesus, beard and all!

http://www.kwl.com.au/httpdocs/Blacklinemasters/year2unit7blackline.jpg could you adapt this puppet pattern
Just found this one http://www.makingfriends.com/friends/f+bible.htm you need to click on each of the links eg "clothes" This then opens a page with paper patterns. They have printed them off to make a paper doll but you could enlarge the patterns slightly and cut them to use as patterns for some fabric to make the body and clothes.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0 -
