Waiting for a bed from Tesco direct for over 5 weeks

We ordered a bed from Tesco direct over 5 weeks ago but are still waiting.

They took the money immediately and rang the day before the said delivery date to say that the manufacturer hasn't delivered it to the warehouse.

I called last week (they haven't kept me informed) and they said that they are still waiting for stock and have no idea when it will be coming in. They also told me that I am the only person still waiting, I find that hard to believe.

What are my legal rights with regards to this? (I don't want a refund - just a bl**dy bed)

Unless you paid for a specific delivery (i.e. next day) then I wouldn't have thought you have many options (and even then you would only likely get the cost of the delivery refunded).

if you still want the bed you'll either have to wait for it or cancel the order and order from elsewhere.

No idea about your legal rights TBH, but when Tesco direct caused me major hassle they let me keep £60 of goods for free. Fight for a discount while you're waiting, or ask them to give you a decent amount on a goodwill voucher as recompense for the wait.
