Ideas for boyfriends birthday

Hi All
Am looking for some ideas for my boyfriends birthday.
He has had a rubbish few birthdays either because money was tight I couldn't really afford anything for him, last year he as rushed to hospital for emergency surgery on his eye, I miscarried etc so I want to make this year special for him.
I should add that our baby girl is due 10 days later so any trips etc are out of the question really.
He will be 31.
He likes photography but isn't obsessed with it. He's done a course, has a camera, has books, has tripod, bag, etc
He is Volkswagon mad! Mainly Golfs and Camper vans. Again he has books, ornaments, a magazine collection back to 1990 if not earlier! etc and even a tattoo of a VW part on his inner arm!
He is motorbike mad too.
His friend and him have just made a gym in his mates garage so he has turned into a bit of a gym buff lately but speaking to his mum and sister they are both going to be getting him new trainers / clothes for him to work out in. He does drink protein powder every morning on the way to work but that's not exactly much of a birthday present is it!
So as you can see - Im pretty stumped.
I want to get him a birthday cake - a nice one and have found these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/24-VW-CAMPERVAN-RICE-PAPER-CAKE-TOPPERS-PRECUT-BLUE-/260543967397?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Uk_Crafts_Cake
on Ebay so think I will get a white cake made and ask for these to be put around the outside and maybe find a little blue VW model to put on top with his 'happy birthday daddy' message.
But gift wise I'm totally stumped. Any ideas???
(should add his birthday isn't until the 21st June so I have a little while yet)

How about paying for a couple of sessions with a personal trainer? They could help him set a routine and check he's using his home-made gym properly.
Maybe a smoothy maker or a juicer so he can make his own protein drinks? Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

Great minds think alike Norberts Mum.
I was just thinking I had 4 books about making healthy smoothies etc from Ethol Austin reduced down to 50p each and was going to give them to my sister but was thinking if I gave these to him he could make himself a healthy drink and add his protein powder to it if need be.Time to find me again0 -
