Internet - £7.99 (the cheapest dial up connection I could find)
The cheapest dial-up internet would be £zero - Freeserve/Wanadoo/Orange dial-up Pay As You Go
1p a minute all weekend, 2p a minute weekday evenings (6pm-6am), and 4p a minute weekday daytime (6am-6pm)
When I was on dial-up I made the phone number my Best Friend on BT Friends and Family with 20% saving.

All this is true.
But Poppy is basically subsidizing her OH's habit. If he lived on his own would he be able to afford £75 a month on cigs AND eat?
Perhaps a heart to heart? Have you explained how dire the situation is, or does he leave all the finances to you?

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions, they've been a great help. I must admit I was panicking yesterday but everything is a lot calmer today and I can see some things I can do to cut down.

poppycracker wrote:Sorry about that charlotte, I was very upset at everything yesterday and the way I read your suggestions was obviously wrong. The smoking thing is a sore point between OH and me and has been for years. And the Council Tax thing....well why would I lie and say it was that much? However, looking at them now, I can see I went a bit over the top so I apologise.
And I did jump. Sorry too.0
