aphids on strawberries
Hi everyone,
I am growing three varieties of strawberries that I bought from the local gardening centre. They've been doing brilliantly outside in my mini greenhouse in nice big pots, but when watering them the other morning, I noticed some aphids on the early flowering one. Some of them have spread to the others.
What can I do to get rid of them? I've moved all 3 out of the mini greenhouse and in an area where I have seen ladybirds in the past in hopes that they'd eat the little !!!!!!s, but so far what I can see there isn't a great difference in numbers.
Are there any other non-chem ways I can get rid of them? I don't want them to destroy the plants. They already have fruit and are starting to ripen as we speak!
Thanks muchly!

Soft soap, even better, softsoap mixed with boil rhubard leaf juices sprayed on (cleaner spray hand jobby will do). Technically as a pesticide you could be prosecuted, but I doubt youll be raided!:)Freedom is the freedom to say that 2+2 = 4 (George Orwell, 1984).

On mine it's like little white flecks.. thought it was dust from something to be honest, or flaky paint, until I saw a couple of greenfly and investigated further!!0

May seem a slightly stupid question, but how many leaves to how much water, and how long should I boil them for??

I used the washing up liquid water on my coriander which had aphids and it worked a treat! Good luck!0
