Hi
Has anybody heard of the teaching qualification - DTLLS (Diploma for Teaching in Life Long Learning Sector).
What types of jobs can I go for if I studied for this diploma?
Does anyone know if there is a great demand for these types of teaching roles?
Thanks

One thing that it won't qualify you to do is to teach in a school as it doesn't offer QTS. Most people with it will be working in FE and you can look at available jobs nationwide in the TES.0

Thanks for your reply. I would love to have a job teaching adults. The only drawback with this that I can see at the moment, is that there are going to be cutbacks/redundancies made by this new government. So, this would reduce my chances of getting a job in an FE college.
Is the FE the only place where I can get these types of teaching jobs?
I would not like to work in a secondary school since I would probably not be able to control the kids!0 -
FE isn't just in the business of teaching adults; the main client group is 16-19 year olds.0

You are the same person with 2 ID's? How strange.
Don't think that FE means they'll behave themselves. 16-19's are probably worse than secondary school children.0 -

This qualifies you to teach a broad range of adults across all sectors, not just 16-19 yo's. I use my qualification to deliver training in the voluntary sector as an add-on to consultancy work.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

I wasn't meaning to imply that you couldn't teach adults with this qualification; just clarifying that FE isn't an adult teaching environment.0
