Using credit refenc agencies to estimate charges ( Re: Barclaycard microfiche fiasco)

Hi There
Im one of the countless who have been fobbed off with the microfiche argument. (If you dont know about this, when submitting a subject access request ,Barclaycard state that all files held previous to 2 years ago are stored on microfiche and not readily acessible. No one seems to have found a way round their argument).
But recenlty I registered, upon the advice of the venerable Martin Lewis with checkmyfile.com, who provide you with info from the 3 major credit reference agencies - Equifax, Experian and Callcredit.
When you view these reports it shows you a chart for your payments to each lender for the last 48 months. Each month has a symbol to show where payment was made or when it was missed. It doesnt always name the lender but I can tell from my records which one is Barclaycard.
Now surely this is evidence for how many charges have been made, providing Barclycard policy on charges hvae been held over the last 4 years. Just as an estimate for the last 4 years its useful. Does anyone think it may even hold up in court as evidence, as its from reputable credit reference agencies? I know it doesnt cover the whole 6 years but its a start!

the microfiche argument is not an acceptable way of these organisations withholding your information from YOU! check out https://www.consumeractiongroup.com and go to the Barclays forum where you will find others who have gotton round this silly argument. They must provide you with this information or you can take them to court for not. i'm pursuing (sh) Abbey for the same thing.Lightbulb moment: July 2006

In theory you could make a very rough calculation in this way, however in order to submit a claim to the court you must be able to provide strict proof of the amount claimed, and this would not suffice. It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0

thanks
I have been registered with CAG.co.uk for a while but no one seems to have got round the microfiche argument as of yet, although a number of people look like they may go to court over it.
A major concern about taking my case to court is that I also hold my main current account, graduate overdraft and loan with Barclays. Now I understand if I do get a refund for the charges on my Barclaycard they may shut the account. Thats ok, Ive had enough of them , and I can transfer the outstanding amount to another card. But I am concerned they will have the power to shut my Barclays current account and demand immediate payment of the overdraft etc. Do you think this is possible/likely?0 -
if you are going down the road of reclaiming charges from barclays, then yes open a new a/c now and move you income, bills etc etc over to the new a/c asap0

Next time a creditor rings demanding payment tell him you need to go and search on Microfilche for your DOB and tell them you'll be charging them £10 for the privilidge.Debt as at 12th July 2006 - £61,345
Debt free 21st Oct 2011.
