Has anyone in NI ever ordered a new car online?

I was going to buy a nearly new car and then VW released the Golf Match. nice spec.

Broadspeed.com are offering over 2 grand off the list price and I'm really tempted.

Has anyone used them or another online broker and was it easy enough to do?I'm aware I'd have to pick up the car in England but for such a good price it's worth considering.

If I showed a local VW dealer the price I'd pay online, is there any chance they'd match it (match, pardon the pun!). I know that works in England but our 12 miles of water often means that we may as well be on another planet sometimes!

It cant hurt to try! take the quote in and be honest, tell them you would much rather buy locally but with this saving they will have to do a good discount. Dont let them put you off, some dealers have told me in the past that cheaper cars like the one you have found are not UK spec, this is total rubbish.

Ive never bought a car from that company but i know they have a decent reputation. I did buy a car at 17k from England, the first time i saw it was when it arrived on my doorstep! was quite frightening but well worth it. Email broadspeed im sure they have delt with people from here before.

    good luck!

nice car choice by the way!

A car's List price is usually a vastly inflated price to allow for part exchange.

All dealers will give you big discount for no trade in, try them

Well worth a go. I bought from Isaac Agnew this year and basically squeezed them until they finally came up with what I wanted! Talk to sales guy John McCrea in Agnew's on Boucher Road, Jenny - nice guy who will do all he can to get your business

I did as advised, not expecting an NI dealer to come anywhere close to the internet price. But it's obviously been a really poor month for new car sales because they actually beat the price without any quibbling. I couldn't believe it! A car sale at a low price is clearly is better for the dealer than no sale.

Looks like we'll be getting a new car .... woo hoo!

I tried to use Broadspeed with my recent purchase of a new Skoda Yeti but they kept me hanging for 6 weeks, promising that the quoted price would be pretty much the acurrate purchase price. It wasnt even close. The salesperson was arrogant and didnt seem to want my business. I felt like I was annoying him when I rang (three times in 6 weekss!).

Best I could do was negotiate a £1500 saving from a local dealer which came within £500 of broadspeed - including ferry prices and hassle I didnt think it would be worth it for the small saving.

To be fair, some people do seem to get the car at the quoted price. really depends on the make/model you want.

We've ordered the car! Now it's an 8+ week wait until it arrives.
