Lightweight cylinder vacs

We have a Dyson upright that is unreliable and heavy, and as we are nearing our mid-seventies would like something much lighter and easier to move, especially up and down stairs.
My wife has been eying the Electrolux Powerlite range and at 5kgs they do seem some of the lightest: most others are 6kgs or more. And motor wattage looks higher than some.
However, Electrolux make Flymo mowers and recent ones have not been that durable, which has made me wary.
Have members experience of the Powerlite range: are they to be recommended, or should we look elsewhere? Your views and suggestions please.
