Hi gang, yesterday was my sons birthday and I made too much food and also a too big chilli. All excess food has been recycled to freezer etc but am not sure what to do with the chilli, I know it would be ok in itself but it was all mixed in the pot with rice and I know you have to be careful with reheating rice. Any ideas otherwise I will just feed it to my hubby who will eat anything!
Thanks
Kerry

Reheating rice doesn't kill that nasty form of bacteria. I'd chuck it to be on the safe side.Tim0

Hi kezbradley
I know some people don't like to freeze or reheat rice, but I often do and have never had any problems with it, as purpleprincess says just make sure it's piping hot when you reheat it.

another vote for freezing it then re-heating well, been doing it for decades & I'm still here0

i've never frozen rice, but pretty much every time i cook rice some gets reheated, usually for lunch at work, and i've never given it a second thought, or had any problems.0

I didn't know it was dangerous to re-heat rice. Alot of micro meals have cooked rice in them, if it was dangerous surely they wouldn't be allowed to sell it or there would be warnings on pack?0

I am a school cook and on our food hygiene course we learnt that rice is one of the biggest causes of food poisoning and to NEVER reheat it.
Saying that I always freeze and reheat rice at home! Just make sure it is piping hot when you serve it.Wendy0
