Perth - lunch near railway station
Options
Anyone know of somewhere to have lunch that is fairly near to railway station? I'm meeting a friend for a couple of hours. Last time we went to a hotel near the tourist office (in an old mill?) but it was quite far when we realised our trains were due! Anywhere closer?
Many thanks

There is the Parklands Hotel next to the station (come out station, turn right, go under railway bridge, cross road and you should see drive way). I have only been here once for lunch and they didn't really do a lunch menu so it could be quite expensive. There is the Queens Hotel across the road from the station, it's bit jaded and I'm not sure what the food is like. A bit further but still only 5 to 10 minutes walk is the County Hotel. The hotel restaurant Opus had been getting rave reviews but the chef was tragically killed in a motor bike accident a few weeks ago, they have just recruited a new chef with impressive cv so might be worth a try. Turn left when you come out of station and follow road (Leonard St) and you will come to the back of the hotel. There is also a cafe in the Library which is on the other side of the road from the County Hotel. Unfortunately that part of town doesn't have many eating places.0

Many thanks Copjunk2. I'll be going again in a month so will try one of your other suggestions - funnily enough we went (before your reply) to Parklands Hotel. Great sandwiches and wine in their conservatory. Bill for 2 was £26 but that included 3 glasses of wine, a coffee and a lemonade. Linen napkins and great service. Was a real treat - out MSE bit was choosing sandwiches rather than the more expensive choices!0
