Just noticed in my contract i am yet to sign that if my purchase of property falls through the fees i pay them is based on what stage its at.
Is this the case with all solicitors or do some work on a no move no fee basis?
I got quoted £656 for basic expenses (ie company fee/searches) doesn't include additional leasehold fees that could crop up.
Should i shop around again for quotes? I've had a quick look online and am not getting any quotes close to this one. This quote involves a first time buyers discount, but im a bit afraid of the fees i may have to pay if it falls through.

you are paying for a service, if the work has been done then someone needs to pay the bill.
I think your conveyancing bill isnt too bad tbh but its a risk you take.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Buying a house is full of charges that are not refundable if it all falls through.0

Get a solicitor who is good rather than the cheapest. You need to have confidence in him/her. I know someone must pay if things fall through, but basically what im asking is, do i go with this company due to the price or do i pay a bit more that has a cover in place?
I've had some quotes at like £800 with an additional £30 charge if you want protection should it all fall through, that way you dont pay them anything.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160
