Just got my first lot of wages for my new job, and think I have been paid too much?
I won't get my payslip till next week now (Finance away day), but I'll worry about it all weekend!
Contract says 21,000 per annum, I got paid £1600 today, can anyone help me work out if it might be right? I'm not paying into the union or anything yet, I did sign up for the pension, not sure how much that will be. Awkward without my payslip I know but I'll worry and worry:o
Thank you for any help:)

If you started during the pay period, have you been paid for more than a month?0

How long is the pay for (4 weeks/5 weeks/a calendar month etc)?
You should be getting around £1250 per month after deductions if calendar monthly. If you've been paid for more than a month it will be more

Thats a possiblity actually, I started on the 26th April, pay day is on the 21st, although still seems like too much!0

Probably 5 weeks pay(or 1/12th + 1/52)0

Are you paid totally in arrears or partly in advance? Is there a pay period on your wage slip?0
-
Not sure yet, wont get my slip till Monday, I think its in advance though0

Relax. You have nothing to worry about.
If you have been overpaid, they will just ask you to repay the difference, or they may just take it out of next month's salary. Either way, there is no point stressing about it.0 -
Could be a tax refund.~*~ If you don't need it, it isn't a bargain ~*~0
