Well, you need to fill in a SOA so we (and you) can understand where you are financially.

Are you in the UK? Your post doesn't sound as if you are.

Do you mean 'garnishee order' in your post? they haven't been called that here for a long time (third party debt order now I think).

Hi, will reply more out of courtesy as I have a feeling you are based in the USA and this is a UK based site, so some of the info will not apply, although i'm sure you will get some helpful info if you check back later.

My feeling too. Still, money's money so we might be able to offer some help but the legal nicities will be different.

It appears that you may be posting from abroad in which case our advice will be of little use but if you are in UK the following may help:

I am glad you have found this site as there are lots of people on here who will offer you support and advice. I can assure you that there are others in your situation and others who have been there and come through it all

Given what you have said, you really need to get in touch with the debt charities for advice - they offer free advice and can help you manage your debts in many ways including Dept Management Plans (DMP), Debt Relief Orders (DRO), Bankruptcy, etc

    CCCS - freephone tel 0800 138 1111 - Mon - Fri 8 am to 8 pm www.cccs.co.uk
They also have an online debt remedy facility where you enter all your details and they come up with suggestions - you would not have to talk to anyone at this stage - https://debtremedy.cccs.co.uk or click on the link on their main site

    National Debline - 0808 808 4000 - Mon - Fir 9 am to 9 pm, and Sat 9.3 am to 1 pm www.nationaldebtline.co.uk

Citizens Advce Bureau (CAB) check for local office

PayPlan - sorry I do not have details of this one

If you can manage to get your financial details together you should do a Statement of Affairs (SOA) and post it on this thread so that people can advise knowing the full situation. You can do your SOA at http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html

Has your husband beento see his doctor - he really should before it goes too far - you should both be getting yourselves and your finances sorted out for your little one - you both need to be there for him/her

Whatever you do decide to do, please keep posting on this thread and you will get loads of advice and support. It has been really quiet on here today (everyone enjoying the weather I think) but others will be along to help you soon

    Lots of Hugs

As Above it does sound like your from the USA.

If your husband is suffering due to money problems, is bankruptcy and option for them. Make a fresh start?
