Bread Maker-Help

Options
I have just been given a bread maker by my friend.

I havent got a clue, need some recipes and what are the cheapest ingredients ( on a buget!!)

Does it work out cheaper than buying? I know it tastes nicer.
And could i leave it on overnight, it says i should take out loaf asap after it has finish so can i not cook overnight for fresh bread in morning?

What make? model? (label on the back)

Will look out a basic bread recipe - but need to know the size of the loaf you can bake.

The bread is not as cheap as basic bread - around 50p a loaf - or less if you use the cheapest strong bread flour (e.g. Lidl?)

If the machine has a timer you can set it to be ready by a specific time. Ours is a Morphy Richards and the setting of a delay is quite a challenge first time round.

I've looked on the Beaumark website http://www.beaumark.ie/
but no sign of a breadmaker - but they may respond to a request that you have 'lost' your instructions.
    There's an email link: http://www.beaumark.ie/catalog/contact_us.php

In the meantime here are the first two recipes from our Morphy Richards:
(Let me know if you need more info)

    Recipe method
All of the following recipes use this same general method:
1 Measure ingredients into baking pan.
    2 Use tepid water 2 1-28°C
3 Insert baking pan securely into unit, close lid.
    4 Select appropriate bread setting.
    5 Push start button.
6 When bread is done, remove pan from unit using oven mitts.
7 Remove bread from baking pan, (and kneading blade from bread if necessary).
8 Allow to cool before slicing.
This method is modified by notes, if applicable, at the end of each recipe.

    Basic white bread
    Water 1 1/8cups
    Skimmed milk powder 21/2 tbsp
    Sugar 2tbsp
    Salt 1 1/4 tsp
    Oil 2 1/2 tbsp
Strong white bread flour 3 cups
    Dry yeast 1 1/4 tsp
    Use setting Basic white

    Brown bread

    Water 1 cup
    Skimmed milk powder 2 tbsp
Soft brown sugar 2 1/2 tbsp
    Salt 1 1/4 tsp
    Oil 2 tbsp
Strong plain brown flour 3 cups
    Dry yeast 1 1/4tsp
    Use setting Basic white

If you have a dough setting - you can make lovely bread rolls - my favourites

I had a beaumark for a little while - for me it worked best if you put the water in last, but I also found that the best bread was made if it was just used for the dough cycle and the bread was taken out to rise.

I didn't really get on with it all that well to be honest, and am delighted to have upgraded to the panasonic - it is SO much better.
