Holes chewed in Parasol - help!

Today I went in the garden shed, thinking I would just need to dust down the garden chairs etc for the summer when I discovered I have been inadvertently been providing board and lodgings for at least one mouse!
The mouse has gone but left plenty of evidence of it's occupancy including large holes in our big garden parasol (that you have over a table, usually on the patio.)
It has chewed large jagged holes in 3 panels :eek: and made a nest with it all!!
Does anyone know if the sort of fabric used in these parasols/umbrellas can be patched? And what sort of fabric I should use?
By the way, I have spent most of the day washing down chairs, sun loungers, play equipment etc to rid it of it's "mousiness"...... who would have thought one small creature could create so much work!

Think I'd be making a decorative feature of the patches, eg big daisy cut-outs dotted all over!!0 -
I believe they are made from a heavy cotton canvas that is treated wth a fireproof and waterproof coating
Only one mouse ? I very much doubt it - where there is one mouse there are usually more so check under your shed as wellBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
