Hiya all.
Im new to this forum. I just got Martins book this week from the library. So found this forum that way.(I have been giving his site name to everyone willing to listen for the past 3 days-people are sick of me)
Anyway, my major problem is my natwest account. Its closed and Im paying of an overdraft with silly interest. Paying £15 a month, and less than £3 goes towards the debt the rest is interest.
I think the amount outstanding is about £900.

Do you have any other debts? Can you not manage say £100 per month and get it sorted in ten months?
Have they levied any charges during the past 6 years for bounced items etc? You should be claiming these back...[strike]-£20,000[/strike] 0!0 -
Yes I have other debts, definetly cant do 100 a month- I wish.
Levied? Bounced items?
Its terms like this that got me in trouble in the first place, LOL0 -
Hi Elix
First thing id say is stop saying you were tricked into getting the account.
You dont learn anything if you dont accept your mistake, Myself and everyone else on this board has done the same, dont take this in any other way than me being helpful, your energy is better spent concentrating on your positive future.
It will be positive now you are posting here
Ok, next step is to post you statement of affairs, so we can have a much better idea of what the situation is and how we can maximize your money so you can pay off more of your debt, and quicker.
Good luck and best wishes

What Dr.Shoe meant was have you been charged for going over your overdraft limit, or for a payment that the bank couldn't make because you didn't have enough money in the bank.
There are people claiming back these charges because they are apparently unlawfully high. It might be worth looking through the current accounts section of the forum for more advice about that if it applies to you.DFW Nerd No. 140
