Another thought is for possibly another sub forum for comps with small outlays.

Please can MSE Andrea or a BG respond to the queries/requests that have been made, and let us know what may happen.

We just want to understand so we know what and where to post.
My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)

personal choice at the end of the day, if people want to waste money on buying loads of magnums or whateva just for the comps then thats there choice , would be a shame to remove some of the comps for this reason

If only there would be a separate competitions thread for competitions that don't involve signing up for newsletters !

I think a newsletter is a small price to pay for the benefit of sites running competitions.

Have you set up a comping email, I get between 150-250 emails daily, other good ideas can be found in the Comping Guide sticky.

    Thanks for this Andrea.

Would it be OK to raise the subject of the under £1.50 rule for text comps. Personally I don't enter these as I believe they are primarily a money making system, partly to pay for the prize, but mainly to line the pockets of the owners or promoters. I particularly dislike the reverse auction ones which seem designed to hook people into entering again and again.

Could you give some thought to restricting text comps to say the same cost as a 1st class stamp?

Just my 2p worth as I can continue not entering them even if they stay on the board.

dont like reverse auctions but others and myself included have won great prizes with the text comps, a £1.50 text gave me a win of £250 hair stuff, i think the £1.50 limit should stay for texts, it works well, so why change it? if people dont want to enter that, then dont
  • I've just got into postal and text comps since january and have already had a few of wins as a result - one of which is £100 cash. I really enjoy them and would hate to see them go. I think the £1.50 rule is fine. I personally don't enter any that cost more than £1, but would not suggest that more expensive texts should be banned from the forum.

    agree.
i really enjoy the postals, and i enter the text comps that cost £1.50 sometimes, 50p sometimes, and 25p + snr alot.
i also have bought a good few packs of magnums for the text comp. i bought them at £1 per pack, and they were lovely, still havent entered the codes yet ,
id like to keep the choice of comps we have on here,:T
THANKS to everyone who posts competitions. you are all :A.
