I've been henna-ing my hair for almost a year now using Lush Caca. Which I love, but I'm thinking now that I am more confident, it would be more economical to make my own henna paste.
Can anyone recommend a good online supplier for yemeni henna, thats not too pricey?
Thanks

My 19 yo daughter has been using henna for 5 years. She did oringinally start off with a pack from bodyshop, but then as her confidence grew she bought it from asian stores or got my dad who works in asia to send it. I'm sorry I don't know the brand name nor which country it's from but shes had great success with those little packs from the asian shop which cost no more than a pound! She even mixed indigo with henna a went for a deep mahogany look last year. All I know is you are supposed to avoid black henna as its henna mixed with some very nasty stuff. Check the labels. Here is the website she got alot of her information from (the free downloadable ebook has masses of information) though its based in the US I notice they sell samples very cheaply.http://www.hennapage.com/henna/where/suppliers.html
Now I'm starting to get my first grey hairs I wish I had darker hair, I could give henna a go - I'm blonde and I did a strand test once and got a vivid orange result. DD is naturaly chesnut brown, but with henna always has gloriously deep red hair with incredible shine, she gets stopped on the street and asked what shampoo she uses and everyone thinks shes a natural redhead. No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Thank you. Yes I was blonde when first henna-ed - boy was it bright, I felt I was glowing in the dark . I toned it down with some indigo and is now a bit like you describe your daugters.
Like you say you have to be careful which henna you buy because it can be horrid if its not pure BAQ...We don't really have any indian stores by us which is why I thought about buying some online. I've seen some on ebay but I really don't know what quality henna I am buying...:)0 -
This place looks potentialhttp://www.thespiceworks.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=75&zenid=8c3c39df11a7c89c3c605886574c5c8e
We almost ordered from here when our local asian shop ran out and DD was panicking! At least there's an actual address and phone number etc. I'm always a bit dubious of ebay - though I understand this supplier does sell on ebay too. You could always order a small amount and do a strand test since it appears shipping is free.No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014.
