£28 instead of £147 for a choice of any 3 out of 8 beauty treatments

Apologies if this is already posted - I did search and couldn't find it.

Today's My City Deal seems a real bargain. The London one is £28 for £147 worth of beauty treatments (3 x 30 minute sessions) from a choice of head massage, facial, back, neck & shoulder massage, reflexology, Hasta-abhyanga, Pada-abhyanga, manicure or pedicure. £28 for the 3 treatments at 1 of 5 O Spa Salons.

A similar deal is running in Reading (£30 for £100 worth of treatments). From what I've seen Sheffield, Bournemouth, Slough, Leeds, Luton, Watford, Portsmouth are all running similar deals. More cities might be, but haven't checked them all.

The voucher is valid for 6 months.

mycitydeal seem to be a shonky company that works in cahoots with companies to get you in the door and then up prices so the deal is not as it seems.
After my experience I would never recommend them.

Sorry Magickid but I think they need to refund the vouchers they have mis-sold first.

I personally don't see why you should have to paya commission charge for a voucher or deal, you are better of coming on here where all the deals and vouchers are moderated by us for no charge and you can make a more informed decision.

Sorry I'm confused - what have I missed? Have I not read the fine print properly?

Everyone was ecstatic over the Sunglasses Hut voucher yesterday and that was from My City Deal.

They were until they tried to use the vouchers, only to find that the prices had gone up in the meantime! The same applies to the Dermalogica offer the day before.

You can cancel your voucher within seven days of ordering it.

I can see that is naughty to put up original prices when the offer is for a voucher - but with the spa treatments its not for a voucher. It's for 3 treatments (which are £49 each on their site) so it makes no odds whether they change their prices surely?

Perhaps I am naive, or perhaps I should be boycotting them due to their underhand ways, but there have been some positive reports from some on here for them......?

I've bout 3 vouchers from them and they have all been fine. 2 were for similar spa treatment packages.

It is a little different when you are paying for a service rather than a 'money off'. The questions to consider here would be will the services be available when you want them, and are they truly worth the £49 they are quoting them to be? Sometimes a good 'deal' can be a false economy.

I have had a quick look, and whilst (assuming the choice of treatments is available), three treatments for £28 is not a bad deal. the £147 valuation is way over the top - a thirty min manicure or pedicure is definitely not worth £49, and I get a fifteen min head massage FOC when I get my hair cut!

A good deal, but very misleading.
