I am in the middle of doing a cruise survey for edigital and it asks for me to send a question to customer services. This is the first survey I have done like this and I am not sure what sort of question I should ask. Any ideas anyone?

    Anything really! I've asked:
What facilities are there for children?
Do you have facilities for young babies?
Are meals and drinks included in the price?
Do you organise the transfers between the ship and the flights?
Are tips included in the price?

    and so on!
Here I go again on my own....

Aaargh, do you think I will be able to claim for the speeding fine from last weekend when I was out ms'ing? ;)

Don't know how much yet, got the notice of intended prosectution today, car registered in dh name so he has to send it back to let them know I was driving. Not sure what is going to happen though as even though we have been married 7 years my driving licence is in my maiden name, which wouldn't be a problem as you don't have to take married name but I am listed on the insurance in my married name.

I did 10 egg jobs on that day so it was my best ms day ever so most of the money from that will be taken by the fine. I am so, so cross with myself. I absolutely accept that I was speeding and the punishment, but dh finds it mildly amusing as I honestly generally don't go over the speed limit. I need to remember to start braking before the speed limit changes from 60 to 30, not as I pass the 30 sign.

I was joking btw about claiming the cost of the fine, just in case anyone thought I was serious, you can't convey tone of voice on a forum.

Change your name of the driving license ASAP.

Regarding insurance, do you having business use on your car insurance? Or just social, domestic, pleasure (and possibly commuting)?

Not sure what this has to do with Ms'ing..but I thought it was an offence not to have your correct details on your driving licence.. and also if you use your car for business use you should have business cover insurance.. if an accident were to occur when out working you wouldn't be covered.. I have it for my full time job and it doesn't add much if anything to the normal premium... worth a look...

I usually ask what credit cards they take for online booking and do they charge extra for AmEx.

  • Morning all! I'm just typing up a report from a visit I did yesterday and then I'm going to enjoy my day off! Couldn't have planned it better what with the weather we're having! Off to the supermarket shortly to stock up on burgers, sausages and buns! The alcohol is taken care of :)

But my passport etc is in my maiden name.. woman don't HAVE to change their names if they dont want to. my licence has always been in my maiden name and when i asked DVLA about it they just took note of my married name... My insurance is in my Married name but they have note of my maiden name.

Hi. I've been a 'lurker' on this thread. I'm wondering if you can make a living at MS or do you do it to supplement incomes you already have?
I'm stuck in one of these situations where I really want to work but have home commitments which can sometimes make it difficult.
I am a lone parent, with a son who, although is an adult, has an illness that requires quite a lot of care - or at least he did. He had a bone marrow transplant a while back, and although it wasn't a total success, he is far better than he has ever been. He will never work and still requires hospital treatment on a regular basis, but he doesn't require round the clock care any more.
So my position is that, due to a divorce (my husband was main wage earner and I got Care Allowance for looking after my son), I now find myself living off Benefits (which I hate - I know we all do). I do however, have some time now and I am trying to work out how I can earn enough money in the time I do have, so I can come off benefits. I would not be able to do a regular 9 - 5 job cos on the days my son is ill he requires full time care + I have regular hospital visits 70 miles away to take him to.
I make scrapbooks and mini books and am thinking of trying to make those to sell too.
How much could I reasonably expect to earn from MS'ing if I could give approx 25 hours per week?
Or any other ideas of earning an income will be gratefully received.
    Thank you.

I'm not exactly a "pro" but I can give you an idea..

Most MS jobs will pay about £xx (either fee or a smaller fee+ small reimbursement and something free such as lunch or whatever)

If you live near a city /are willing to travel a bit and sign up to most agencies it's possible to pick up 2-3 a day no problems really. I live in a small city and as a student can't drive! I still manage 5-6 a week in a small area.

You'd expect to get about £xxx a week doing it reasonably relaxed and more if you really commit. It's flexible and good fun so I'd say go for it!
