I am more interested in sharing my experience than making money.
I will ask permission as suggested by southernscouser - no offence taken. I understand why these rule exist.
Mike - Glad you like it. Remember it's just my experience though. Yours may well be different.
If it is helpful to other people then I hope it is allowed! There can never be too much help on this board! :beer:0 -

The Blog is fantastic, I too am going through Bankruptcy and it scares me. That blog really helps.
Thanks
I am sure there is an amicable solution.
Maybe was_bankrupt can begin a thread on here about his bankruptcy experiences and copy and paste the notes on his blog onto this new thread here.
Thus all the info on his blog would be on here (and there would be no need for his link) and every one wins.
There are very good reasons why links in signatures are not allowed.0 -
I see the details of your debt problems. What did you decide to do and why?0

Well done WB nobody is having a go, just trying to keep a great site clean.
You would be amazed how many people try to post links to get traffic to their get rich quick schemes or dodgy sites etc etc.
Your blog looked good but at the end of the day if it is taking ads it's amoney making site and we called all post links into our sigs to our own money making sites etc etc.0 -
Thats very true, I can not heve too much information....
It is a dreadfully worrying time, some days Im strong and can face it gladly and think its the future, some days irts hell.. I worry about not having any money at all, not enough for food etc etc...
Personally my debt is a mixture of living a life that wasnt rightfully mine and living beyond my means, and a bad business venture.. The banks were only too happy to lend to us... They should know that 2 people on average salaries cannot service over £100k debt, all of it is on credit files so they do know about it.,.. why give me more and more and more till i fall over !!
I wouldnt blame the government really, what could they have done to make things different, perhaps impose restrictions on amounts you can borrow etc etc but if they did they would be throwing the nanny state thing at us... its a free world i guess...0 -
.... Link lecture over, resolved... can we carry on with the subject please ?
Thanks0 -

I have no sympathy for the banks and when some one does go bankrupt and thousands of pounds are wiped off the CC companies profits. I think it serves the banks right for loose lending practises.
I think the banks should think more carefully who they lend to.
However if you borrow the money it is YOUR responsibility to pay it back.
Nobody forces you to take the money.
I think the banks are not that bothered, we have record debt but the banks still make record profits.0 -
A recession!I really hope we can miss that.I remember the last one
very stressful. My mortgage on 58k went nearly to £700 a month,I was building up a new business.Seeing folks loosing their houses/business,interest rates relentlessly increasing
!
I,like many experts in the mid 90`s,I thought this would bring the to rampant house price inflation, how very wrong we were!
Agreed, things do look strange globaly.I think we are entering a time of change in unchatered waters.0 -
I dont need telling that it is my responsibility... I asked for the money, I risked it and thought I could deal with it... I think of that every single day, and will probably do that for the rest of my life... I hate what Ive done, and if I could go back 5 years I certainly would know what to do and not to be as foolish as I was.
What we dont need now that we are about to be bankrupt is anyone throwing the 'you made a boo boo' card at us and labelling us. Government legislation has allowed us to go bankrupt for a reason, to start again.0
