Mini Loaf Tins - recipe help please

Options
Counted up our pennies this morning and we had £2.70 to go car booting with my DS.

He fell in love with a DK CD-rom - a science one - £1.50. I managed to negotiate for a dozen mini loaf tins at 10p each.

He is now happily engrossed in his Science Explorer - and I'm in the kitchen staring at my newly washed tins.

What would be fabulous to bake on a Sunday afternoon?? Preferable something that can be frozen to stop us eating everything up all at once.

Also - how full should I fill the tins? - I'm guessing a little over half full should be about right.

Anyone got and recipes for those cake tins they serve in Costas that look so yummy?? Would love to give them a go.

Thanks in advance for all of your help and recipes

Sorry to resurrect an old thread that got no replies....but this was a long time ago and it is the only thing that comes up when I search for mini loaf tins!

So...I got some mini loaf tins as a wedding present and not sure what to bake in them. It needs to be cakes rather than bread - I don't tend to bake a lot of bread!

What do you bake in yours? Anyone got any nice recipes? :)

I would make mini lemon drizzle, mini chocolate/choc chip, spiced fruit loaves. Basically any cake mix can be baked in them. Probably best to try a sponge mix for starters to see how much mix is needed and how long to bake for.

Any cake recipe just cooked for a cup cake type length of time. Carrot cake, lemon, choc chip sponge. Anything would work well I'm sure.
