Hi there,
I was only recently advised about the FJF positions in the job centre which is ashame as i am 25 in 4 days!! However i did apply for 2 positions one was 25 hours the other 30 hours per week they are both paid at £6.71 per hour so not all NMW.
Got a call back about them today one of the jobs was unavailable so they put me in for another one instead - so keep your fingers crossed that i am as lucky as your brother as i will not be able to be considered for any more of these.
They do sound really good though great for people with not much experience as you are guaranteed 6 months of paid work and it is very much aimed at "on the job training" so fantastic opportunity - i really hope he likes it and well done to him!
Oh forgot to add once you are an employee of that council it also means you will be able to apply for any internal positions available.
