good websites for administrative work

I am looking for admin work e.g. data entry, filling clerk etc but I do not have any office expereince and I am wondering if there are any good websites for this that will filter out jobs that require experience.

I am looking for advice on how to get into office work too. Currently working in a call centre and hate it.
  • I don't know your ages but if there are still vacancies going for office juniors these days that would be one way of getting into it. If you have no office experience you can try volunteering which will provide you with a very useful reference to show to future employers. If you look at the do-it-org website you can find all kinds of volunteering opportunities. If you have word processing software on your computer you can practice your typing skills. There are also many, many free learn from home courses available from organisations such as ALISON and Vision2Learn. I don't know how to look for job sites which filter out job experience requirements, but I'm sure other people will come on here later and tell you how to do it. Good luck.

I work in an office now after doing completely different work in the past, I just went to and agency that specialised in office workers and went from there.
  • Hi There

I am also considering applying for clerical/administration jobs, since I have about 15 years experience of office administration work. However, does anyone kmow if any progression can be made from clerical/administration jobs or do you think they are 'dead end' jobs?

    Thanks

Depends on who you work for, what kind of admin work and your personal attributes. In the past I've been employed as a basic administrator for a project - sending out standard letters and answering phones and ended up running the project - budgetting, funding applications, evaluations etc...
But it is also possible you will stay in the same role until get fed up and run out screaming :p - a situation I have also been in, I left when the opportunity to go to university came up :)
  • So I take it that there is always fierce competition for primary school teacher posts? What are their entry requirements? Do they always ask for graduates? If so, do they always ask for a high degree classification, such as a 2:1?

    Thanks
