Hi Just looking for some advice.
My partner and his wife split up last year and it has been very messy since. They have 2 kids together, he has kept his name on the mortgage because at first she couldnt get a mortgage in just her name. Now that she can afford it she wants his name off without letting him have any of the equity..there is about 40k in the house. He doesnt want to take his name off for this reason...she is threatening to go to the solictors to take it off. Can he be forced to take his name off of it?

No, he can't be forced to forgo his equity or have his name taken off the mortgage. He needs to employ the services of a family solicitor, 40k is not an insignificant amount, he needs to protect his financial interest in the house.poppy100
