Various debts but left the country

Hi guys,
I left the UK in 2008 and left some debts unpaid. Credit Cards, Loan and mobile phone bills. Overall £ 8,000 so it is more now. I know I'm getting some letters regularly because my relative still lives in the property I lived in before I left. They don't know that she's my relative. I was wondering whether I should worry about the debts or forget about them because I don't have any intention of returning to live in the UK. I visited the UK earlier this year and had no problems at all. Well, I paid only cash everywhere. Can the creditors catch me overseas? If I wanted to repay the debt from overseas by monthly installments if they do catch me would it be possible?Wouldn't they freeze my accounts? I know they could sell the debt to an international creditor. How likely is this to happen? Cheers:eek:
