First-Time Buyers, one person self-employed, help!

Options
Hi,
My partner and myself are looking to take out our first mortgage. She earns a fairly good wage, however i am self-employed. I have only been registered since January this year. Previously I have been working various full-time and part-time jobs around my freelance work for the past 3-4 years. I am a little concerned as to how this will affect our ability to get a mortgage and importantly, our ability to get a good rate. We have a 40% deposit between us (house value approx 200k), but if my income cannot be added to hers i don't think we will be able to borrow the remaining 60% (this is what i understand from using mortgage calculators online). As a side note, I would rather go direct through a bank as opposed to using a broker for the mortgage.

I would be really grateful for any insight or helpful advice.

Many thanks, David

You need 2 or 3 years of accounts as far as I know.

I think you need the advice of a broker in this case.
