Current employer sharing personal data with prospective employer - what to do?

But surely the OP's OH will have to declare her condition at some point with a new Employer, whether it be on the application form or once the job is secured, most jobs require you to declare any existing conditions and/or attend a medical - ?!
Most employers I know, esp in the public sector ask you to declare your disabilities, medical conditions and any significant illnesses in the past. Most employers I work with require you to declare disabilities, and this does not appear to be one?
I have never been asked to provide a blood sample at a medical. And in fact only one employer has asked me to go for a medical.
And, some employers don't even do a health screening questionnaire.
Based on no evidence at all and gut feel based on what I see in the world of work, chances of having to declare 50/50
When I got my current NHS job, in addition to asking questions about whether I had a history of depression, allergies, whether I'd had cancer, when & for how long; it also asked about countires I'd lived in / visited recently to track potential blood borne illnesses.
If occupational health have questions about tht info on the form, they will call you in for a face to face.My colleague who'd lived abroad for a few years also had to take a blood test and in addition to testing for hepatitis, they checked for Aids.
If the form had not been filled in truthfully, and something later came up that was not disclosed, it is grounds for immediate dismissal."This is a forum - not a support group. We do not "owe" anyone unconditional acceptance of their opinions."0 -

But there you have it! WHEN YOU GOT your current job. Not WHEN YOU APPLIED for your current job.
She hasn't got the job yet (and might not). There's a massive difference between disclosing an illness once you've been offered a job and your employer disclosing an illness in a reference to a prospective employer.0 -
Just found out that she hasn't got the job - it was between her and another candidate and it was offered to the other candidate, but 'there was nothing between them'.
Not sure if this changes things really.0 -

Sorry about the job. Not sure which side i'm on in this debate, however your GF needs to deal with the HR now an preempt this happening again. She also needs to confirm that references aren't taken up until she's accepted a job offer.0
