Gold HDMI - Argos

I wouldn't say they're cheap and why would you say they're better? A HDMI cable either gives you the signal or it doesn't. It's only with long cable runs that you need to look at the quality.
I paid £7 for a 10m cable recently which does the job perfectly.
I say they're better 'cus What Hi-fi gives them 5 stars and those guys really know their stuff:)0 -

Thanks though!!
Maybe not now, but give it a few decades of corrosion and you'll see the difference

Magazines such as What Hi-Fi have a tendancy not to be overly impartial - look at some of the TV reviews with some of these magazines. I wouldn't go by any reviews in a magazine for electrical products when there's a chance (and that's being kind) that they could be swayed by ad revenue.
Plenty of outlets and people online to give you a true review of any product regardless of it's price.0 -
Yep, The Gadget Show did something on budget HDMI cables vs the posh stuff and they couldn't honestly discern any difference. Perhaps, as a previous poster mentioned, you're paying for the likely extended lifespan of the cable by going for gold! Still plenty of cheap gold ones out there, though!0

I'm not going to get into the ins and outs of expensive v cheap suffice to say I bought one from Amazon for the PS3 for only a couple of pounds which was a loss leader at the time and has been absolutely fine, we use the PS3 for dvds./blu ray.
What I will say if you are buying from Argos do make sure the cable is long enough for what you need as one I bought from them was far too short. Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama
