Feeling hot in well insulated houses

Currently I live in a house which isn't particularly well insulated. Being quite keen on green issues (and saving money) I'd like to do something about this but there's one thing putting me off. Whenever I've spent time in newer well insulated houses in the summer I find them insufferably hot! Does anyone else find this? Is there a way to prevent it (without installing air conditioning!)?
Thanks

Well a well insualted house whould be easyer cool than a poorer one. insualtion bloks out incoming heat as well as it keeps heat it. So your main source of heat into the building is though the glass. So what you want is either sometime of overhang over your windows to block most of the summer sun but to allow the winter sun in. Or too do as they do in the med and other warmer areas is too included shutters on the outside of the building.

Another thing you can unless you designing a passive house is have maximum amount of opening windows space as possible to allows the greatest air flow though the building.
You cheapest option is properly the shutters. As you will only need them of the south facing side.0
