I was going to go to the post office at lunch to send off all my day time invites, but thought I'd better phone the local travelodge first, as they weren't showing on the website, and I'd put it on all my invites for people to stay, as it's local to where we live and we are putting on a coach to the venue for our guests.
All the invites are written and sealed, and guess what.... the hotel is shut until next year now!! there was a fire at the near by services, and the hotel felt that due to the construction work and lorries, they be best to keep shut!!!
It's the most convenient and cheapest hotel around ..... what can I do?
We are getting married near Banbury, but live in Bicester

Write (lightly) on the envelopes that you will write out again regarding accommodation as the Travelodge has unexpectedly closed for the season, and send the invites. (No sense in wasting a lovely design).
Take a couple of days to get over the shock, and then ring the Tourist Info centre to see if they can help.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
At least you checked first!
See if there's a Days Inn nearby - these are all franchise, and of you speak to the manager they might be able to negotiate a block booking at their cheapest rate - that's what we're trying to do.
Maybe pop a note on the outside of your envelope asking people who need accom to email you for updates.0 -
