I bought two of the sliced loaves from Sainsburys and they were not as nice as usual. Dated best before 27th May but they didn't seem very fresh, breaking up quite easily. Not very happy :(

I have been nuying thse for a wgile, and if you pop it inot the freezer as soon as you get it, then take it out when needed it does stay very fresh and edible. Can solve the problem of availability and means that on the odd occasion that they have them with a reasonable sell by date, you can replenish the stock. I didn't think that freezing would be much good for retaining the freshness but it has worked really well.
