Please can someone help me...

hi ,we only decided to get married about a month ago and our wedding is in 10 weeks time and i cant find a dress within budget,i have been to dress sales and wedding outlets tried on loads of dresses ,i have found it really hard to find a dress that fits my body shape although i am not big(size 12)(just a strange shape!!!!!)after lots of searching i think i have found "THE ONE" but it is still £595 ,while this not alot for some people it is way to much for me,the dress is by romantica and it is called sorrento, i was hoping someone might know of a dress that is similar and slightly cheaper, thankyou:)

    Have you tried the internet???

I know that Landey (or landy) Bridal do copies of the big name dresses for cheaper - look online

I bought mine last year from EBAY and it was an auction from a private seller, but it was brand new from an internet shop (A Top Dress Shop) and was £55 incl postage.

It was lovely - depending on your budget and outlook - the internet maybe the way to go.

My hub has taken up photography so when it warms up we are going to do a "Trash the dress" shoot of me on the beach, in the sea etc - so given the price I am not emotionally attached to it (from a money perspective) like some other people who have forked out £00's for theirs.

    Good luck

hi, thanks for your reply, i think as there is only 10 weeks to the wedding it is to late to use landy,i have spent ages searching ebay but have found nothing local to me as by the amount of dresses i have tried on i cant risk wasting the little money we have by ordering without trying it on first.

But if you go for something bigger and get it resized would that not help?

Maybe print off a pic of the dress you like and see a dressmaker to see if she has any opinions as to whether it could be altered.

You mentioned a funny shape - how funny is funny??

The other dress shop I mentioned A Top Dress Shop has a place in london somewhere which you could probably find out if they do try ons etc

It just depends on what you want to pay - some of these people will do it quicker - but of course you pay for it.

Call the wedding dress shops in your area, see if any are having a sample sale.

don't know where you are based but one of their stockists in kent is tantrums and tiaras just outside Ashford. They are having quite a big sale at the moment - might be worth a call. I'm going there myself to try dresses on Saturday!

These are pre-owned, but you could try dresses from this site - not sure where you live, but this dress below looks similar (it's Maggie Sottero, so a good designer and has a lace up back which can make sizing easier).

Just wondering how you got on with the sales ilovetoshop? Any luck finding a dress? Ignore that, comment - just realised it isn't until next weekend!
