Best mattress under £400?

Hi all,

I'm looking for the best double pocket sprung mattress under £400.

I've read a lot of advice on the MSE forum and have established that; it is best to stay away from big brands, go for a retailer with a satisfaction garantee, etc etc.

I don't want to know which mattresses to avoid, simply which ones people think are best.

Thanks!

The first thing to do is to search on google for sellers who give a satisfaction guarantee.

Then you need to narrow them down by reading their terms and conditions to make sure that it is a proper satisfaction guarantee that allows you to unpack and sleep on the mattress.

Next you need to phone them and ask advice, as it is in their interest to make sure that you make the right choice the first time.

This way you will get a better quality mattress than the Bensons one, for a fraction of the price.

Millbrook are one of the better big brands, but you can get far better quality for far less if you go for smaller independent manufacturers.

    Thanks for your reply Tim.

I've read all of this before on many of your other posts and will take this all into consideration.

I'm struggling to find two-sided mattresses within a budget of £400, also very few manufacturers actually do these now.

How comparable are the Kozeesleep mattresses to the La Romantica ones?

Why is it hit and miss if you buy from a seller with a satisfaction guarantee?

If you try a bed out in a shop, then you only get a rough idea from trying a bed out for 10 mins fully clothed.

If a seller gives a proper satisfaction guarantee then it is in their interest to make sure that you make the right choice the first time, because if they get it wrong, then it costs them money. And you have the security of the satisfaction guarantee.

Really?.....well it's out there if you look for it. Just be careful as some retailers say staisfaction guarantee, but when you read their terms and conditions they don't let you unpack and sleep on the mattress.

I can't answer that on MSE, as it may look like I was pushing you towards produucts that I sell.
