Hi. Iam now starting up a DMP and need to open a basic bank account to have my tax credits etc paid into. I have terrible credit history. I dont want chip and pin or anything fancy. Just a basic card which allows me to transfer my income over to. Can anyone recommend anyone?
thanks. lauren

Firstly it needs to be a bank that you have no debts with. The one that a lot of people on here seem to favour is the Co-op basic account,0

Hi - here is a list of all the basic accounts and what facilities they have. http://www.moneymadeclear.org.uk/pdfs/bank_accounts.pdf (list on page 5)
On here natiowide and co-op seem popular choices but you need to chose one you don't currently owe any money to.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

            Hi Lauren123
Have you tried Barclays. They have a basic account that you apply in branch for. Instant decision. They are also DMP and bankrupt friendly. If your DMP is with CCCS they agree not to use the account to offset. Do check this info as it may have changed but this used to be so.
