petticoat for the maggie - adelaide dress?

okay, got my wedding dress at the weekend (yay) but just a quick question about the petticoat that should go underneath it. i had a hoop on when i tried it on saturday but i don't know if i could cope with that for the entire day.

is there anything that doesn't involve a hoop that i could get to give the dress a fuller look?

thanks

I'm wearing a hoopless petticoat, it has 3 layers of mesh to give it a full A-line shape. Don't think you can get them to do particularly exciting shapes though!
Got mine cheap on ebay - though be careful of the fabric used as before I altered it, mine rustled a lot and made me sound like a paper bag!

who did you buy it off on ebay? i was looking at a few online yesterday but what i'd really love is one that's purple... unrealistic i think cause i don't want to spend a fortune on one and probably taking the "i want as much stuff purple as i can" idea a little bit too far lol

lol picklepick we could be wedding twins! i'm determined to have purple shoes at least, want purple and yellow flowers, bridesmaid is going to be purple, have purple on the wedding invites (which me and OH have finally agreed on and i love and won't be too hard to make lol), got little purple crystals to scatter on the tables...

i keep thinking what other things i could do purple but the OH thinks that anything more could be taking it a bit too far! :rotfl:

haha i have purple BM dresses, purple and grey invites, purple, pink and ivory flowers,

H2B and groomsmen are wearing a grey suit with purple cravat, purple table runners and lilac and pink silk petals for my tables- note no purple petals.... purple overload maybe?!

I almost had purple shoes aswell but have ended up with ivory ones.

Link above, but don't know if I can post links on here. Seller is Wildcentury.
But like I said - it was noisy. The shape was great but I ended up pulling it appart and attaching to a softer fabric!

Hi Gandy, Ive just been looking online for you and can see that some people dyed their white petticoats purple/lilac etc? Is that worth a go? x

Thats okay - I came accross several sites who said they had dyed theirs successfully.

Here is one site that helps:

    and another:

Now Ive seen this I may need to do mine pink! xx

i know .... i think i might do it without telling anyone at all (even my sis or mum) and surprise them on the morning of the wedding lol!

i would love you have gotten one made but i'm having a long dress so it would probably eat in to my budget too much.

thanks for this though, now all i have to go is get the richest purple dye i can find and i'll have my purple petticoat :j:j:j:j

p.s. just printed out the ebay guide on how to dye your petticoat and will be tucking that in to my wedding book for reference!
