buy to let mortgage - moving abroad

We have been offered a job in Saudi Arabia. We will rent out our house. Any advice, suggestions, hints and tips greatly appreciated.
We need a buy to let mortgage for 2 - 3 years. Any ideas?

Sorry, I should have said - I've done that. We need to move our mortgage as First Direct doesn't provide buy to let. We need 50% LTV and can easily cover the mortgage with rental income including letting agent fees.

We need to make a decision this week and want to make an informed decision based on all variables not just the tax free status of the job and all the perks.

Did you ask FD if they would allow Consent To Let for a 3 year period.

As if you are intending to return in that timeframe they may grant it.

I did. I was told they could do it for a couple of months but not for 2 - 3 years.

So, now I need to look for a buy to let mortgage. I have a rough idea where to get the best rate.

I was hoping people here would have some more info / experience so as to avoid pitfalls and paying over the odds
