Managed to get the entire family (7) a return trip to Prestwick scotland for £42 all inclusive on £3 flights from stansted over half term week. I saw these deals starting the 1st June if anyone is interested.
I have my own insurance and no luggage apart from hand luggage and no priority boarding.

It'll cost you more on the train journeys trying to get out of Prestwick then it did to fly up there hehehe0 -

Unlikely as you can get half price railfare by showing your flight confirmation.0 -

You are entitled to half price train tickets to and from Prestwick Airport on your day of travel, you just need to prove it by showing tickets. It is about £3.50 into Glasgow. If you are going further afield remember to get a through ticket and that way it is a lot cheaper. The line the airport is on is Ayr to Glasgow Central.0 -
Cos he flies to airports in the back of beyond;)
Glasgow airport is nearer Paisley than Glasgow so still not easy for the city and it is cheaper and quicker to get to Glasgow from Prestwick Airport than Glasgow Airport. The rail link to Glasgow Airport was recently cancelled and the road is a nightmare.0 -

Indeed neither airport claiming to be "Glasgow" airport of whatever variety is in Glasgow.
As I live on the west side of the city it takes me less than 20 minutes to get to Glasgow International airport, including parking, so it wins hands down for me.
The rail link to Glasgow International would have been of no use to me as I would have had to travel into the city centre, get a train to Paisley, then to the airport, which would more than double my journey.
Fortunately you don't always need to use the motorway to get to and from the airport so there are alternatives when it is busy - like every morning!0
