Josie_Jump wrote:Well I had my cortizone injection today and I'm not sure what all the fuss was about, I've had so many people telling me how painful they are but quite honestly there was nothing to it. Quick jab from the side into my heel and that was it. Now I'm hoping it works, I'm booked in for another one in 6 weeks if needed. Fingers crossed this is enough to sort it out!
Any updates Josie?
I thought that I was managing quite well with walking around, it's not that it doesn't hurt, it's just that I expect the discomfort and accept that on a 'good' day it will be irritating and on a 'bad' day it will hurt but I went on holiday recently, it was a UK cottage holiday and the assumption was that we would have a little tour round country villages and mooch around little market towns.
For the first 2 days I could manage quite well with about a half mile walk around a town but as the week went on I was limping more and more and wanted to walk less and less so I was secretly pleased when it rained so I could go for a sit down indoors or in the car, very depressing really....0 -
oh, i have had this for nearly 2 years.....i got offered the injection but was warned that it will be very painful....and me being me...scared of needles...i refused! Still in pain though! I find walking around alot triggers it off!0

I suffer from PF too - it gets better if i'm not carrying too much weight and if i'm careful with footwear
IMO the thought of the injection is worse than it is and the discomfort isnt a patch on the pain sufferers have daily with the condition anyway...0 -
Sorry it's been a while since posting. I've now had 2 injections and am still suffering, it made a difference for a little while but the pain returned after a week or so. I'm seeing my doc again on Friday and he has advised that if the 2nd jab hasn't work it's not worth having the 3rd and then we'll have to discuss whether I want to have surgery to fix it ;0( . I've read a few blogs about the surgery and it's seems it's 50/50 whether it works or not. I really wish I could get it sorted though, I think I've forgotten what it's like to walk without a limp or in pain.0

I used to suffer with this condition but the best advice I had was from a doctor who told me not to put my full weight on my heals when I first stood up in the morning or when I had been sitting for long periods of time. To just tip toe around for a while until my feet warmed up. Worked a treat.
