Hi All - This is my 1st ever post so be gentle.

You no longer need to be invited to join, just search spotify and follow the instructions on their home page to join for free.

I joined myself last week without an invite and it's great.

Hope this helps somebody.

The account you can sign up for without invitation is called Spotify Open and is heavily restricted to 20 hours listening time per month. An invited account (Spotify Free) is unrestricted.
