Job seekers allowance and temp work

After getting fed up of three months at home looking for work, I've signed up with temp agencies. I have today been offered a one month role (in my chosen field!) starting Wednesday.

My sign on date at the job centre is Friday. Does my JSA get suspended for one month or do I need to sign off and sign back on again if my contract doesn't go any longer?

You will need to sign off and sign back on again when your contract has finished (thats assuming this role is over 16 hours per week)

But tell them it's a temporary contract, and ask how long you'd be OK to do a rapid re-sign for if it does only last the month, for example.

You can do a rapid re-sign up to 13 weeks after you signed off.

Good luck with the job and hope it ends up continuing. These temp ones have a habit of doing that.
