1. ensure you have a solicitor/legal executive acting for you - minimum
2. ensure it is the same person throughout
3. ensure they have direct dial and email that they give you
4. ensure they are open during lunch
5. ensure they do not charge silly extras such as:
- acting for a mortgage lender on a purchase
- filling in a stamp duty form
- checking searches
- carrying out searches
- discharging a mortgage
6. ensure that the estate agent does not force you to use their law firm as virtually a condition of having your offer accepted
7. don't choose a firm based on price, those that are cheap are cheap for a bad reason
8 - 10

8-10 got depressed as i doubt people will get the message...but I hope you all do and do not get stung with terrible service, often peddled by national agents who get huge kickbacks from factory 'case handler' firms they direct you to and who actually expensive and terrible service....and not from solicitors but head set charliesMy posts are just my opinions and are not offered as legal advice - though I consider them darn fine opinions none the less.:cool2:
