I'm new to this so please forgive any gaffs or errors of protocol because I would appreciate some advice....
I have just been refused a mortgage. On the advice of a broker I obtained my credit report. The only issue is a record of late payments to Vodaphone over the past 6 months. I've been with Vodaphone 10 years, & pay my bill monthly by direct debit. Vodaphone confirm my account is in order and admit the error. They will contact the credit agency to amend the record. Apparently this can take up to 9 days. The mortgage deal I'm applying for might not be available in 9 days. What can I do in the short term to secure the mortgage. And in the long term to ensure Vodaphone don't make errors that have such a serious impact on my life?

This is not true; a company like Vodaphone can notify the credit agencies by email straightaway and then the agencies will change your report overnight or at least within 48 hours. As they have admitted it is their fault, threaten legal action...that should do the trick.0

you can also put a notice against it on your file, it doesn't remove the negative payment issues but lenders will be able to see what you have put. Discuss it with your mortgage advisor, 9 days should be fine tbh:silenced:0

Get a letter in writing from Vodafone admitting the error and the course of action to rectify the error.
Then submit this with any application.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I think that mobile phone providers are famous for this type of thing. They`re very keen to place anything on your file, sometimes even without a letter to you.0
