That dress is lovely!

I have just ordered my maggie sottero wedding dress (vanessa). I wondered initially about having a copy made and found this website www.thecurvybride.com could do it much cheaper including shipping.

In the end I decided to order it from a bridal shop and pay more for peace of mind and a contact should there be a problem, not that anything would go wrong but if it did I would be devastated.

I ordered my dress on saturday as the bridal shop I saw it at was holding a Maggie Sottero day to launch the 2010 collection and were offering 15% discount on all orders placed that day. I think that the price had gone down too from the last time i tried it on as it was last years collection and got the discount off the new price making it £714 (a lot of money but worth it!). I think the website worked out to be about 500 including shipping.

Might be worth keping an eye on your local bridal shops in case they do the same thing. You could ask if they do discount days or you could order the dress online. The curvey bride say that they are not copies but are from the designer and so would be worth the risk if you order now.

My bridal shop has quoted 20 weeks for the dress to be made as they are behind due to the volcanic ash cloud. If you are set on this dress and are going to order online I would order it soon to give you time to get any alterations and make sure you are happy with it in plenty of time before the wedding.

The dress you like is $853 on there but then you need to factor in delivery & customs charges. Not sure how much it is in the shops here.
My dress arrived well packaged, brand new and with certificate of authenticity but it did take longer than they said it would so give it plenty of time if you decide to go down this route.

i'm surprised you managed to get your dress from the US as since 1st April 2008 Maggie Sottero has banned all of her US suppliers from shipping to the UK (believe me I tried my best to get my Maggie dresss from the US but no where i looked shipped to the UK)

I did manage to get my dress (on saturday as it happens) but i was lucky i got a brand new Adelaide for £250-£300 off cost price but that's because a girls wedding was cancelled and the dress was my colour and size and a bridal shop was selling it on for the bride.

it looks like bridalgown.net buy from another bridal salon then sell onto you and thats how they got around it
