I certainly hope that note left by his predecessor "Dear Minister - There's no money left" is an example of a joke in extremely poor taste/supreme !!!!!iness to his successor. If it's a statement of fact - then......anyone got a life raft?0

VAT will rise
Benefits frozen
Tax credits reduced (wish they would get rid of the stupid system and just let people keep more of what they earn, but don't suppose they will, too many rely on them now)
More things will become means tested

If there isn't a large amount of cutting spending and raising taxes, it is time to leave the country. Possibly moving to Greece would allow us to live in a more economically sustainable place.
And there will almost certainly be the headline grabbing disbanding of several labour built Quangos, just to draw attention away from how deep some of the cuts will be.All I seem to hear is blah blah blah!0 -

Budgets 1997 - 2001 had a large surplus which Brown used to pay off debt.0 -
basically whatever happens, the chav scum will still be drinking stella and watching their flat screens in relative comfort, whilst those who work will be squeezed until they bleed.
personally, whilst it would sicken me to pay more tax to pay for the mess of the last 13 yrs having never voted for those filth mongers, it would certainly sweeten the pill if (a) the chav scum are cut off and (b) there are MASSIVE CUTS and job losses in the public sector.0 -
