charging order on house

is there any way i can contest a charging order on a house that i knew nothing about and only found out when i was left property by my father when he passed away and a search was done on me. my ex-husband knew about it but omitted to tell me. the charge is in my name and not his.he was made bankrupt but has left me with a lot of debts he put in my name which i am trying to pay off. apparently i owe £42,000 to a bank as i was supposed to have signed a personnal loan for his business and now this has cropped up. i try to survive on disability benefits with 3 children. the house is up for sale but there is only about £13,000 equity left if i can't get rid of the charge do you think the bank would settle for the £13,000.:(

I doubt it, the charge is their to secure payment. Running up debts in your name without your knowledge or consent is fraud. I believe if the house is in both names but the CO only in one name you can contest it in a manner of speaking - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1839539Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -

Do you mean that your ex took out debts in your name (fraud) or do you mean that these were joint debts that have become your sole responsibility because he was made bankrupt? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
